Victorian Sandstone Frontage
An exclusive sandstone feature reclaimed from the historic Whittingham Asylum near Preston, you can own a rare piece of history with this stunning stone structure.
Officially opened in 1873, the asylum (later to be known as Whittingham Mental Hospital) was one of the largest mental hospitals in Britain. The site closed its doors in 1995 and remained mostly derelict until its demolition in recent years.
This item is one which made up a section of a roofing archway which we believe was located over one of the entrances to the building.
This product was dismantled in parts for ease of transport and would make a beautiful garden feature.
